Located in the heart of New Haven’s Chapel Street shopping and entertainment district, just across from Yale Old Campus, steps away from the British Art Museum and the Yale Art Gallery, Basta Trattoria offers an intimate dining experience. Chef Eduardo Pena began his professional culinary pursuit under the mentorship of Frank Criscuolo, the founder of this cherished trattoria.   Basta’s exquisite traditional Italian cuisine with a modern twist favors fresh, locally produced ingredients and sustainable foods from the region. All of the food at Basta Trattoria is cooked fresh to order. They take freshness very seriously, and promise that you’ll notice the difference.   Basta has been recognized with numerous accolades over the years, including Connecticut Magazine’s “Best Of” award for their ever-famous meatballs.   Dinner is served 7 days a week, and lunches are served on Saturdays and Sundays.
