More than two years after Scoozzi served its last meal, a new restaurateur is preparing to move in to its prime spot Chapel Street near York.
Vicente Siguenza, who runs four restaurants with his family, is preparing to open a new restaurant in the old terraced subterranean Scoozzi space, at 1104 Chapel St. (pictured).
That was a surprise announcement Thursday at a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new beauty product store not far away on Chapel.
Siguenza said he’s shooting for a July opening for the restaurant, to be named Harvest Wine Bar and Restaurant. Harvest will have a “farm to table concept,” sourcing local produce and working with local companies, he said. Yale community affairs chief Lauren Zucker dubbed it “farm to fork.”.
Asked about the price point, Siguenza said it will be “in the middle—fresh and affordable.”
Siguenza’s family owns Cava in New Canaan, Scena in Darien, Harvest in Greenwich, and 55 Degrees in Fairfield.
